Speeding is a well known problem in Burlington. From Rt. 4, to Rt. 69, and so many small short cut roads, speeders cause multiple accidents that endanger themselves and other drivers.
In Burlington Chatter — a local Facebook group — someone posted a video of someone speeding on Foote Road.
“So while it might be fun to drive fast, it is incredibly dangerous. When you drive at fast speeds, you lose your ability to control your vehicle and you put the well-being of everyone else on the road at risk.”
The post went on to say ” I’d call Burlington PD but they’ve never done anything so enjoy the video. And if any cops are reading this post: we’ve lived here over ten years and I’ve seen only one person pulled over on Foote Road.”
According to recent reports, fatalities and injuries due to distracted driving in Connecticut continue to rise despite the efforts made by law enforcement in Connecticut.
Most people speed in order to get to work or an appointment on time. Some just aren’t paying attention to the manner in which they are driving.
A handful of others do it just to have fun. While you won’t always get caught while speeding, you might inflict horrible damage on yourself, your vehicle and other people.
