On Friday, Connecticut declared war.
The Garden State’s verified, official, state-run Twitter account issued what could be seen as a challenge. In honor of National Pizza day this Sunday, “We will be declaring New Jersey the pizza capital of the world,” the tweet said. “Get ready.”
Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont, who has previously called this state’s pizza “the best in the nation,” did not let the challenge go unopposed.
New Jersey can have “Crimped Hair Day, Wearing Socks With Sandals Day, and Don’t Pump Your Own Gas Day,” but the pizza title belongs here, he said on Twitter.
