Senator Murphy and Mayor Zoppo-Sassu Team up to Discuss the Opioid Crisis

This Friday, October 11th, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy and Mayor Zoppo-Sassu will host a roundtable discussion on the opioid crisis.

Senator Murphy will discuss recent federal funding and efforts that he continues to pursue in the Senate, as well listen to those people affected. “Senator Murphy has been tracking the city’s effort following our receipt of the $150,000 state grant,” stated Mayor Zoppo-Sassu.

“And recently, his staff alerted him to the video series of Bristol stories of people and families affected by opioids. We will be giving him a preview of those, as well as updating him on the efforts of our grant-funded recovery coach, and the work of our first responders.

The roundtable discussion is scheduled for Friday, October 11 at 9:30am-10:30am at Bristol City Hall Council Chambers. It is free and open to the public.
