Census Bureau to Host Job Fair in Burlington March 16

Burlington Town Hall

The U.S. Census Bureau is now accepting applications at job fairs across the country for the 2020 census.

On Saturday March 16, 2019 at the Burlington Town Hall, the Bureau will hold a job fair from 11 am – 2 pm.

The jobs include census takers, recruiting assistants, office staff and supervisors.

The census affects many aspects of Connecticut, including congressional representation and the amount of federal funding allocated to the state for many critical programs.

The U.S. Constitution mandates that a census of the population be conducted once every 10 years for the purposes of reapportioning Congress.

Census data determines how much federal funds are distributed back to states and local communities every year for services and infrastructure, including health care, jobs, schools, roads and businesses.

2020 census field jobs range from $21-$23 an hour and offers flexible schedules with no qualifications and the ability to work from home.

Office positions range from $17-21.50 an hour. Both office and field jobs are located in Hartford County at the job fair.

The Burlington Town Hall is located at 200 Spielman Hwy, Burlington, CT 06013.
