Bristol Rep. Pavalock-D’Amato Takes Heat Over Social Media Post

Rep. Cara Pavalock-D’Amato

The Hartford Courant is reporting The Southern Poverty Law Center has submitted a Freedom of Information request for e-mails by Bristol Republican Representative Cara Pavalock-D’Amato.

The FOI request seeks emails and messages all the way back to January 2013 with ACT for America, the American Public Policy Alliance and the Center for Security Policy, a far-right, Washington, D.C.-based think tank. The Southern Poverty Law Center has branded the groups as anti-Muslim hate groups.

ACT for America describes itself as a “national security grassroots advocacy organization” that “stands for the protection of the United States of America and the Western values upon which our nation was built.”

This comes on the heels of a Facebook post by Pavalock-D’Amato in support of a workshop by Scott Presler.

“I’m a big fan! Can’t wait,” posted Pavalock-D’Amato on the event page.

Presler is a conservative activist that helps Republicans get elected across the country.

Presler has ties with ACT for America and the American Public Policy Alliance.

The March 16 event states “Please join Scott, as he teaches the Connecticut GOP an activism class on how to get out the vote in preparation for the 2020 presidential elections.”
