L-R, Dawn LaBella, Patricia Ochoa, Jennifer LaPierre, Mayor Ellen Zoppo-Sassu, Marriya Connelly, Merina Bigos and Town Clerk Therese Pac.

The next Mayor’s Youth Cabinet meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 12, 2019 and will feature City Clerk, Therese Pac and members of the Clerk’s office.

They will review the various functions and operations of the Clerk’s Office along with interactive exercises for those in attendance. The exercises will include dog licensing, land recording, vital records, elections and absentee ballots.

The evening will also include a trip to the vault to see the early handwritten 1798 land records, the 1812- 1852 handwritten vital records and early maps. They will show how these functions are processed now with computers, thus making information more available to the public.

Bristol young people, ages 10-18, are invited to be part of the Mayor’s Youth Cabinet. The purpose is to connect young people with their government. The meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month, before the City Council Meeting.

There are different topics each month, and some guest speakers. The meetings are 45 minutes in length, and members can opt to stay for a part of the City Council meeting which begins at 7pm.

This is not a series. Young people are free to attend any or all of the sessions as their schedules allow. Scout Troops are also welcome.
