Bristol City Hall

The monthly meeting of the City Council will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, beginning at 6:45pm with the Joint Board meeting, followed by the City Council meeting at 7pm.

The meetings are held on the first floor of City Hall and are open to the public.

“There are a variety of items on the agenda to accomplish city business,” stated Mayor Ellen Zoppo-Sassu.

“This includes appointments to boards and commissions including the vacancy on the Board of Education, requests for proposals on city-owned parcels on Lincoln Place and South Street, a report of New Hires, as well as discussion on new panhandling and loitering language to go to the Ordinance Committee to address the increased presence of panhandlers on the Route 6 corridor.”

The Bristol Youth Commission is also presenting its annual Youth Recognition Awards.

The City is seeking interested citizens to serve on the Inland-Wetlands & Conservation Commission which is a land use board that currently has 2 vacancies for alternates.

In June the City will also be forming a Diversity Council and is looking for volunteers to serve on that as well.

There is also an Executive Session scheduled to discuss the city’s handling of personnel procedures related to sexual harassment issues and to create stronger policies and protocols to prevent them from occurring in the future, including but not limited to language for the Charter Revision’s consideration on elected and appointed officials.

The full agenda may be seen by going to Agenda Center on the City website, and clicking on the City Council meeting.
