A team of assessors from the Police Officers Standards and Training Council will examine the Bristol Police Department’s policy and procedures as they relate to tier 1 of the state accreditation standards according to a release.
The accreditation is a highly prized recognition of local law enforcement displaying professional excellence.
Accreditation is for four years, during which time the Department must submit annual reports attesting continued compliance with those standards under which they were initially accredited or re-accredited.
As part of the on-site assessment, Department employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments.
Comments can be emailed to James Pelletier, accreditation manager for the Bristol Police Department email@example.com.
