For the last 36 years, law enforcement members across the world have carried a torch, the Flame of Hope, to Special Olympics games worldwide.
No matter what comes their way – rain, snow, or shine – these incredible men and women raise awareness about Special Olympics year in and year out.
Every year, over 97,000 of these compassionate law enforcement members carry the “Flame of Hope” to Special Olympics events across the world. As they carry the flame, they spread a message of inclusion that reaches people around the globe.
In September, several officers from the Bristol Police Department took part in the Special Olympics Over the Edge event.
The event was a fundraiser for Special Olympics in Connecticut. Participants rappeled down Mohegan Sun Casino.
The officers that took part in the Bristol Police Department team are Connor Hogan, Mark McGrane, George Franek and Chief Brian Gould.
During this season of thanks, help show these incredible members your gratitude for their dedication to transforming attitudes toward people with intellectual disabilities everywhere.
Their actions are worth celebrating.
