Bristol Roundup

Candidate Q&A: Ted Shafer incumbent for First Selectman of Burlington

The Roundup sent questionnaires to every candidate in Bristol and Burlington for this year’s municipal election. In an effort to properly inform voters, their answers are unedited. The goal is to give the candidates the opportunity to offer their thoughts on issues directly to their constitutes. In return, it gives voters the opportunity to formulate their own decisions on what they have to say.

Next up is incumbent Ted Shafer First Selectman of Burlington.

Ted Shafer – First Selectman of Burlington, CT.

What are your most pressing issues?

The most challenging issues will be town finances due to State of CT budget challenges, continued focus on economic development and transportation corridor upgrades.

How do your thoughts and ideas differ from your opponent(s)?

If re-elected to my third term, I will continue to bring my extensive financial management experience, commitment, and collaborative leadership style to serve the needs of Burlington.

Your Thoughts:

Laura, the kids and I love what Burlington has to offer.  Rustic charm, the many community events, a good school system, open space, recreation, warm friendships, and the opportunity to volunteer and give back.  Thank you again for your continued support. Your vote on Tuesday, Nov 7th would be very much appreciated.
