Bristol Man Strikes Utility Pole: Passenger in Serious Condition — Driver & Passenger Identified

A single-vehicle crash was reported to Police early Monday morning on Riverside Avenue near the intersection of East Street. Arriving officers found a passenger in the vehicle suffering from a serious and potentially life threatening injuries.

A preliminary investigation found the Steven Bouchard, age 22 of Bristol was traveling east on Riverside Avenue in a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Bouchard failed to negotiate a left curve in the roadway and as a result, Bouchard dove off the right side of the roadway, striking a utility pole.

Bouchard suffered minor injuries in the crash. His passenger, Philip Bouchard, age 22 of Bristol, was seriously injured in the crash and was transported by ambulance to a nearby trauma hospital.

The accident remains under investigation by S.T.A.R.T. Any witnesses to the crash are asked to contact the Bristol Police Department at 860-584-3036.
