City to Hold Another Special Meeting Regarding Possible Complaints Against Mayor Cockayne

Ken Cockayne

On Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. the City will hold another special council meeting at City Hall to discuss possible complaints against Mayor Ken Cockayne by City officials and municipal employees.

The Hartford Courant reported during the August council meeting, Mayor Ken Cockayne read a random and unexpected note of apology to Jodi Zils Gagne, District 2 Council member, and his cousin.

The Press reported Cockayne said “There has been tension between myself and Gagne, and this has been caused by a family matter that was taken too far and into politics. We are looking to move past this and iron out our differences.”

The special meeting, however, will take place in executive session to consult with outside counsel on what the role the City Council has on information that was provided to them during the last executive session in regards to the accusations against Mayor Ken Cockayne.

Once out of executive session, the City Council will publicly discuss, make recommendations and take any actions against Mayor Ken Cockayne in response to the consultation with the outside counsel.

There will be no public participation.
