Website highlights dead malls, Bristol Centre Mall featured

“Retail historians, Peter Blackbird and Brian Florence decided to take Pete’s hobby and make it visible to the Internet.” That’s the description of Deadmalls.com and its creators.

The duo is “fascinated by the ever-changing face of retail, Pete has researched and learned as much as he could about the many facets of the retail industry.”

Deadmalls.com featured the Bristol Centre Mall back in 2006 and the article is well worth a revisit.

Bristol Centre Mall was a small two anchor mall that was part of a downtown urban renewal project from the mid 1960’s. This one level mall was about 450,000 sf and was opened in 1969-1970, and it contained two original anchor stores…..Read more.
