Career day at Bristol Police

Students from Lewis S. Mills High School, Regional School District 10 recently attended career day at the Bristol Police Department. After touring the headquarters, they were briefed on police operations, the process of becoming a police officer, and the polygraph examination.

After reviewing the life changing consequences for a DWI conviction, several of the students experienced the effects of “beer goggles.” The visit concluded with a demonstration of the department’s CAP system. Using the simulator, students faced an armed robbery suspect and experienced firsthand the quick decision-making that police officers must face in high-risk situations.
