On Sunday night, BPD Officers responded to a serious motor vehicle crash on Stafford Avenue in the area of Jewel Street. Officers arrived on scene and found a vehicle crashed into a tree and fully engulfed in flames. Police and bystanders attempted to rescue the lone operator of the vehicle but were driven back by the intense heat. Bristol firefighters arrived and extinguished the fire.
Shortly after, Bristol EMS pronounced the operator deceased at scene. The operator of the vehicle has not been positively identified.
