Countdown To Kindergarten

On Tuesday, August 19 from 9:30am-11:30am all Bristol children entering kindergarten in the Fall are invited to “Countdown To Kindergarten”. Countdown to Kindergarten is a program designed to help new kindergarten students get ready for the first year of school!

The program starts promptly at 9:30 at the Children’s Department at the Bristol Public Library. Check in and get a kindergarten goody bag full of fun first day of school stuff! Then children and adults board the school bus as the fun continues with a ride to Imagine Nation Museum.

At the museum your child will meet with other children as well as kindergarten teachers, hear “going to school” stories, experience circle time and walk through the lunch line to get a yummy-good-for-you snack to eat. While the children enjoy their snack, parents have the opportunity to view the Bristol Board of Education website, find out what their child will experience during his/her first year at school and talk to school staff.

ShopRite of Bristol will present a display and talk on healthy eating. After all the fun at the museum, you and your child will board the bus and head back to the library. The program is free but you must pre-register by calling the Bristol Library at 584-7787 ext. 2021. This program is designed to celebrate and support the transition into kindergarten and is presented by the Bristol School Readiness Council, Bristol Public Library, and the Imagine Nation Museum.
