Is McDonald’s Downtown Bristol’s Renaissance?

100_0534After almost five years since the city approved plans from Renaissance Downtowns to develop 17 acres in the heart of downtown Bristol, 15 acres remain after the construction of a relocated new McDonalds.

City officials and the public are growing weary if the project proposed by Renaissance will ever happen.

The latest plan for phase one of the project is now down to one residential 101-unit apartment building set off the street. The revised plan has a price tag of $18 million, with $6 million of public funds.
