Police Arrest Minor For Car Theft

police-lightsBRISTOL – On Tuesday night Bristol Officers arrested a 16-year-old male charging him with Burglary Third Degree, Larceny Second Degree, Criminal Mischief Third Degree, Conspiracy to all three charges and Interfering with a Police Officer.

The original complaint was of a light-colored Mercedes being operated erratically with no lights lit on Terryville Ave. The Mercedes was later found at the International Gift Shop on Terryville Ave. The operator having abandoned the

vehicle. A description was provided of the operator that abandoned the vehicle and a Bristol k-9 Officer spotted the suspect and was able to apprehend him on Pound Street. Further investigation revealed the 16-year-old had several car keys in his pocket that belonged to cars for sale on the lot of CT Moped Center of 50 Terryville Ave., including the Mercedes that was abandoned. Forced entry had been made into the business to steal the keys to the vehicles.

The youth was referred to the Juvenile Court in Hartford. In accordance with the law the youth’s name cannot be released.
