BRISTOL – Andrew McKnight, award-winning folksinger and storyteller, returns to Bristol and his family’s roots for a fourth local concert. Artist Tree Tea House will host the event in the art space next to the tea house, Gallery 156 at 156 School Street, Bristol. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m.
Andrew’s first Bristol concert over six years ago was at the Bristol Historical Society where he honored his grandmother, Bristol resident, Madeleine McKnight, by raising money for a scholarship in her name.
Currently, Andrew lives in Virginia with his wife and daughter but visits family and friends in Connecticut several times a year. His music is filled with stories of family, friendship and community. Several of his songs lament the changes that occur to neighborhoods with time. He also captures moments in time such as a farm family celebrating the first rain after a long drought.
Andrew has criss-crossed American singing and telling stories but his experiences have inspired him to write more music about this great country and its wonders and its people.
Tickets are $20 but no one will be turned away for inability to pay.
