Bristol Sports Hall of Fame Honors John Fortunato

Wall8bBRISTOL – On Thursday, May 1, the Bristol Sports Hall of Fame will be dedicating the John Fortunato Room at the Bristol Historical Society at 7 p.m. Honors

John Fortunato was a driving force in the creation of the Bristol Sports Hall of Fame, with a vision of permanently honoring “the distinct contributions and achievements of Bristol’s sports heritage.” John served as the first vice-president of the Hall of Fame and was actively involved in all aspects of the Hall.

In particular, John personally set up the display cases and placed the memorabilia in most of the exhibits currently on display at the Sports Hall of Fame room at the Bristol Historical Society. The Board of Directors believe that it is fitting and proper to dedicate the room in John’s name.

The John Fortunato Room will be open for viewing after the ceremony. Any person interested in the history of Bristol Sports is invited to join us for the dedication.
