Man Threatened To Blow Up Bristol City Hall

On Monday City Hall reported to the police department that Robert Daprile, age 51 of Stamford, had threatened to blow up city hall during a phone conversation with them.

Daprile was upset over a lien placed on property he owns on Rockwell Ave. The lien was a result of Blight Issues with the property. The threat included him putting a bomb in city hall and blowing up the building.

Daprile was located at his home in Stamford, where he admitted making a threat t o blow up city hall . He was sub subsequently arrested, transported back to Bristol PD where he was processed for Threatening 1st and Breach of Peace 2nd. He was held on a $40,000.00 bond.

The City intends to push the Code Enforcement Committee to be more aggressive in the area of code enforcement in order to rein in properties that have been allowed to deteriorate due to the influx of absentee landlords we have in Bristol.

Recently the City demolished 14 Lincoln Place and 43 Park Street as part of the Cities new aggressive fight on blight.
