Artist Tree Tea House in the West End held its grand opening today. A very emotional Dori Green, owner of the new tea house said “I want people to know the West End is a safe place.”
The grand opening attracted around 20 people. Coffee, tea, pastries and much more was on display for attendees.
“This area was once a beautiful multi cultural place, and you know what, it still is. The people I’ve met are great, and have been very nice and helpful. The neighbors have offered to help unload my car, carry things inside, and they’ve even offered to do free work to help get me established,” Green said. “The perception of a few is not the reality of the whole neighborhood, my experience has been fantastic”
Artist Tree is an oasis in the West End. It boasts Japanese style seating for two in the window, soft music, a water fountain, quaint tables, and additional seating in a shared art gallery called Bare Bones which provides access for tea goers to an outdoor deck that overhangs the streaming Pequabuck River.
On Saturday Nov 2nd the Tea House will hold a Grand Opening Celebration including entertainment, kids photo props, Cupcake Truck, Mad Hatter and Alice in Wonderland themed festivities with henna and face painting, Chinese Herbal Demo, Tea Leaf Readings and a professional photographer to capture the fun!
