People’s Marketplace Bravo Bristol?

monday 008People’s Marketplace Bravo is the new name of the former Bristol’s Marketplace in downtown Bristol. The store will open on October 11th.

The small downtown grocery store closed in April after having financial and partnership issues. The marketplace opened in the summer of 2012. The building’s owner Sunny Mothe partnered with Bob Veilleux who managed the former Discount Food Outlet. New owner Pradeep Bokka has teamed up with Bravo Supermarkets.

Bravo Supermarkets currently have other locations in Waterbury, Hartford and West Hartford.

Bravo is affiliated with Krasdale Foods, an independent grocery wholesaler which supplies more than 7,000 products to Bravo and C-Town supermarkets. Bravo offers Krasdale-labeled, private-label, and regional brands, as well as ethnic and specialty food items.

Bravo Supermarket is a chain that operates in various locations, mostly in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. They also have several locations in Florida. They sell an array of products including fresh produce and cater to much of the Latino population.

The Bravo group was founded in the early 1990’s.  They work together with their already established sister company, C-Town Supermarkets.

At many Bravo Supermarkets you can shop for Goya beans, listen to Latin music and see potted palm trees. Currently Bravo is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.
